Julius Muli
I am Julius Muli. I was born in the year 1991. I have one parent, one brother, and five sisters. I sat for my primary examination (KCPE) in the year 2006 and now I am at Kaputiei Secondary School. It was hard for me to keep up with my studies because of some issues with school fees in primary. I am at times forced to go and hustle back in the streets of Nairobi so that I can satisfy my basic needs. All this did not keep me back. I continued to struggling up tot the end and passed my examinations well.
I am really studying hard to reach my future, maybe to have a family and a good job in both our country and other continents. I also have an interest in my talent and skills. I am talented in playing football. I just want to work hard and well and to improve on my talent. To achieve all my goals, I need to be determined, focused, and never lose hope no matter the circumstances. Working hard and well with discipline are what I need to do to achieve my goals and sustain my needs. I also need to cooperate with others to uplift our nation.

My names are Kiayo Tarinku. I was born in 1992. My mother and father were really living from hand to mouth in our homeland Ethiopia, where there was an outbreak of war between different tribes. At that time, I was not yet born. My sister has told me that, in the process of war, my father was killed while defending our family. Fortunately, my mother escaped from the jaws of death and I can’t tell you how I found myself in Kenya. Being in a family of poverty, I had no choice but to survive. My mother was then very old and could rarely find means to support us. We are a family of seven children but what is funny is that we are all spread out far from each other. Two of my brothers remained in our homeland, but one brother, two sisters, and I live now in Kenya.
Due to poverty, I had no choice but to hustle the streets until God sent a Good Samaritan who evacuated me from the street and took me to a children’s home in 2001 at Kitengela. There, I started my studies from pre-unit to class seven and after we shifted to another placed called Kaputiei. I was then a candidate in Kaputiei Primary School where I worked very hard by burning the mid-night oils. I sat for my KCPE and passed, though I was not taken to a provincial school. I am now in form one at Kaputiei Secondary School.
Despite the fact that I am a student from a poor family background, I am really determined to make a good future out of nothing. One thing that does give me a hope and not to throw in the cards is that I believe in God that he is going to continue opening paths of success along my highway of life. I know that he has a purpose with each and every one living in this world. Having faced the challenges back in the street, I am really looking forward to helping the needy after I succeed in life. In spite of still having a long way to go, I know one day my dreams and visions will come to be a reality.
Besides education, which is an added advantage in life, I also participate in the extra-curricular activities including playing football, athletics, a bit of dancing and singing, net ball and I also like making friends and having fun with them.
